The Snow Queen

REVIEW IN THE EVENING ECHO 27.11.01 BY LINDA KIRKMAN
PUPILS' ENTHUSIASM DELIGHTS AUDIENCE

Hans Andersen's fairy tale was beautifully told by the seven participating schools - Jane Farrell Ballet School, Rita Jenvey School of Dancing, Wessex School of Dancing, Spotlight School of Dancing, Hollywood Dance Academy, Academy of Dance and Talbot Academy of Dance.

Each one performed a seperate section illustrating different aspects of the story, with exquisite costumes and a good range of pre-recorded music, from classical to Irish folk, adding plenty of variety.

The 200 or so youngsters, aged from five up to older teenagers, danced with obvious commitment and talent, and whether witches, goblins, flowers, courtiers, robbers, reindeer or snowflakes - and more besides - their enthusiasm kept the many small children in the audience spellbound.

WABS has given its participants and the public much pleasure over the years, and continues to do so. Here's to the golden jubilee.
