Once Upon A Time

SUNDAY 26TH NOVEMBER 2006

Once upon a time, the Western Association of Ballet Schools invited the public to revisit some of their favourite fairy tales and childhood stories. A spectrum of dance interpretations of stories from around the world: Aladdin, the Ugly Duckling, The Wizard of Oz, Sleeping Beauty and Little Red Riding Hood, accompanied by a group of beautiful wood fairies and nymphs who dance in between the tales.

This year WABS has gone back to classic dance, and it’s a real compliment to the skills of the talented young dancers in the Association.

The choreography was mature and the dancing standard was very high for young performers. It was refreshing to see such grace and poise in amateur dancers.

The Association should be commended on a professional and enjoyable show, and the dancers congratulated on an enthusiastic and sensational show, well deserving of the standing ovation. If you missed it this year, ensure a seat next year.
